Some people like to take it easy and rest after the craziness of the holidays and some prefer to keep their schedule filled. For those that are looking for fun events to fill their time this January and connect even more with the local community, I’ve rounded up a list of 10 January 2025 events near Phoenix. They range from hands on, to outdoor markets, to food centered, so there is a little something for everyone. And better yet, some of them are FREE!

MoshPick Market | January 11th

MoshPick Market is basically a two in one event where fashion and music collide. From 12-5PM you can attend their FREE “Pre-Show” where you’ll find over 40 vendors showcasing unique streetwear, art, and accessories. Stay fueled with a variety of food and drink options, while listening to live music. Then at 6PM, head to the Nile Theater to keep the party going at their ticketed music event. Do note, the Pre-Show is free and the MoshPick evening concert is a ticketed event held at a different venue.
Succulent Terrarium Design Class | January 17th
Learn, create, and connect with fellow plant lovers in this succulent terrarium design class hosted by Cactus Flower Florists. Get your hands dirty and craft your own succulent terrarium, while you learn from experts about choosing the right plants as well and arranging them in a visually appealing way.
Copper State Beer Fest | January 18th

The 4th annual Copper State Beer Festival is the largest craft beverage and food festival in Mesa and this year it’s back this year at Riverview Park. Not a beer fan? Don’t worry, with vendors that include wineries, cideries, hard kombucha, seltzer, and fan favorite spirits, there’s premium beverages for everyone. A Taste of AZ Food & Drink Festival | January 25th
Arizona's most intimate food and beverage festival is here at Salt River Fields! Desert Glows | January 24th & 25th

The Arizona Balloon Classic is a well known balloon festival that takes place in Goodyear annually. If you’re an early riser and looking for something FREE to do, you can head out there for the morning ascensions from 7-9am the 24th-26th. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even reserve a spot on one. But if you’re more of an evening person, I’d recommend checking out Desert Glows. Since hot air balloons do not fly at night, you’ll get to walk a field full of illuminated, tethered, hot air balloons that will “GLOW”.
8th Annual Doggie Street Festival & Adopt-a-thon | January 25th

If you’re an animal lover, this is a not-to-be missed FREE fun family friendly celebration of our furry best friends. Check out fantastic pet products and services, yummy eats, vet tips, music, auction prizes and much more! Friendly dogs are welcome at the West’s largest adopt-a-thon and pet celebration.
PhxArt Amplified | January 25th

Sound and art converge at PhxArt Amplified Vol. 4. This is an audio and visual experience that takes over the Phoenix Art Museum’s galleries and space. The Arizona Bao and Dumpling Festival with Fried Chicken and Wings Festival | January 25th & 26th

The Arizona Bao and Dumpling Festival is returning for its 7th year with the Fried Chicken and Wings Festival and it’s sure to be a weekend full of good food. Support local businesses and try new foods. With one ticket, you can enjoy a variety of fried chicken, wings, dumplings, and bao. Plus, boba, desserts, and other Asian dishes will be available too!
