October kicks off a busy few months of outdoor festivals and events across the valley! After a long, hot summer, we're all begging to be outside as much as possible, and luckily there's no shortage of things to do and places to be. With so much happening, I've narrowed it down to the events I have my eye on. Take a peek at 10 October events in Arizona and get your tickets before they sell out!

GIRLS ONLY Mini Fall-oween Market (Coffee Launch!) | October 4th

The Water Lantern Festival is happening in Tucson at Reid Park. Guests design and release lanterns on the water, creating a breathtaking display of light alongside live music, food trucks, and a welcoming community vibe. It’s a night of beauty and connection you won’t want to miss!

Rex Allen Days (Willcox) | October 2nd-5th

Head to Willcox for a weekend full of Western fun celebrating the legacy of Arizona’s own Rex Allen, the singing cowboy. Originally from Willcox, Rex Allen rose to fame in the 1950s for being a gifted singer, actor, and narrator, and even became the voice of countless Disney nature films and TV shows, earning the nickname “The Voice of the West.” His hometown continues to celebrate his legacy every year with a festival featuring a rodeo, parade, carnival rides, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Bring the whole family and make memories at this cherished Willcox tradition!

Paranormal Paddle with Yak N Sup (Mesa) | October 18th & 25th

The spooky paddle board adventures continue with Yak N Sup! They are hosting another Paranormal Paddle in October at Canyon Lake Marina. You'll launch paddle boards (or kayaks) and follow the guide deep into Boulder Canyon — a place known for its eerie silence, hidden coves, and chilling history. Along the way, you'll hear bone-chilling tales of ghost sightings, unexplained lights, and the legends of those who vanished searching for the Lost Dutchman’s gold.

Twilight Bedazzle Book Night (Tempe) | October 9th

A Southwest Sampler Event: In honor of the 20th Anniversary of Twilight (a favorite!!), join us for a Girls Only Twilight Bedazzling Book night at Wijaya House Bookstore in Tempe happening Oct 9th, 6:30pm. Pup-or-Treat Event (Casa Grande) | October 18th

Pinal County Animal Care & Control is hosting its annual Pup-or-treat Halloween adoption event! This is a FREE, family-friendly night filled with music, games, vendors, a costume contest, trunk or treat, prizes, a haunted house, and more. Not to mention you’ll have a chance to meet the adorable animals available for adoption and even add a new member to the family. Plus fee waived adoptions and free microchips will be available!

Taco Fest (Scottsdale) | October 18th-19th

Arizona's Taco Fest is back this year at Salt River Fields! This iconic two-day event brings together over 40 of the state’s most passionate taco makers along with agave spirit artisans, local musicians and DJs, artists, and small businesses to create an exciting experience authentic to the community. Try as many tacos as possible and wash them down with a margarita at one of the bars located throughout the festival.
